2024 DK Tournament The 2024 Danny Kenny Tournament has concluded. Thank you to all who came out to remember Danny Kenney and support the DK scholarship fund. For any questions, email [email protected].
Daniel Charles Kenney was born at Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, Texas on January 9, 1970 to Bud and Peggy Kenney. Danny enrolled at Texas A&M University during the summer of 1988 and started as a Stopper for the Texas A&M Men’s Soccer team from 1989 until he graduated in 1993. On the field, Danny was a powerful force on whom the team always depended to shut down the opposition’s best forward. Off the field Danny was equally engaged, and you could always depend on Danny to be there when you needed help.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Distribution, Danny joined the sales team at Ram Electronics in Plano, Texas. He transferred to Austin, Texas in 1995 and moved to Dell Computer Corporation in Round Rock, Texas in 1997.
Danny passed away in September 1999 after a tough fight with brain cancer. In 2000, Danny’s family and friends initiated the first Danny Kenny Memorial Golf Tournament. This annual fundraiser supplements the generous donations from Danny’s friends and family and has established the Texas A&M Men’s Soccer Team Memorial Endowment in honor of Daniel C. Kenney, which supports Scholarships for current club members. Since 2003-04, the endowment has provided over $65,000 in scholarships to the Texas A&M Men’s Soccer Team.
