What's New?

The regular season has now concluded! We finished the season with a record of 11-3-1.
Additionally, we secured a spot to the National Tournament by placing 1st at the Region IV Regional Tournament.

We had a strong showing at Nationals and finished the season with a Top-8 effort. The Off-season is upon us, and its time to put in the work to make it to the National Championship next year.

With that being said, we will be hosting OPEN TRAININGS this semester! If you are student at Texas A&M, you can come out, practice, and get to know the guys. Open trainings will be from 8-10 pm on Tuesdays but closed to only current club members on Thursdays.

Check out our social media pages for updates on games and all things Texas A&M Men's Soccer!

This Section will be updated with new material as it arises. Stay tuned!

Our Goal and Mission

Picture
Each year, our club practices and plays for a spot at an annual Regional tournament hosted by NIRSA. This tournament hosts teams from around the southern United States, such as Texas, Texas Tech, LSU, Missouri, Tulane and many other club programs around the region.

Our goal is to not only reach the regional tournament, but to win and advance to the National tournament. Nationals is where the best of the best compete for the title of National Champion.

Our last championship was in 2004, while appearances at Nationals are common through the years. We had a semi-final appearance in 2014, and most recently reached the Quarterfinals in 2021.

Athlete Hydration Kinesiology Study

Picture
This past summer, the Kinesiology department approached us with an offer to participate in a university-funded research study aimed at investigating player hydration levels on various surfaces of play.  Members of the team participated in 1-3 session per week, and played a 90-minute game of soccer with specific rules put in place to maximize the intensity during play. It was great to get some preseason fitness in before league games picked up.

The study is attempting to quantify how much water high level athletes lose during play on turf compared to grass, and draw conclusions based on the results. It is one of the first of its kind to be conducted, and Texas A&M Men's Soccer is proud to be a part of the cutting edge of science, as well as help the A&M community! Gig 'em!
